Appointments vary in length depending upon the complexity of your child’s issue however a minimum of 45 minutes should be set aside for a first appointment, although it may be longer if there are multiple issues to discuss.

Medicare and Fees

Consultations are eligible for a Medicare rebate if your child has a valid Doctor's referral from your GP.

GP referrals to specialists are usually valid for 12 months. Beyond 12 months, or for a new problem, you should obtain a new referral prior to your consultation in order to be able to claim appropriately through Medicare.

Please call to enquire about fees for first and subsequent appointments.

Accounts are payable on the day of your consultation by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. At the time of payment we will use Medicare online claiming which allows you to have your rebate paid into your nominated bank account within two to three working days.

If you have registered for the Medicare Safetynet, you will eligible for a Medicare rebate which will be enable a claim of 80% of the out of pocket cost of the consultation fee, once the threshold has been reached each calendar year. The Department of Human Services website has more information. https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/medicare/medicare-safety-net

Many families will also qualify for a medical needs healthcare card. Please feel free to discuss this with your doctor at your appointment.
